Mizuhiki is an ancient Japanese artform of knot-tying, most commonly used to decorate envelopes which are given as gifts during holidays like Japanese New Year or for special occasions such as births and weddings. 

This knot is a type of knot worn by monks. It is said that it has the meaning of tying and keeping thankful and precious sutras so that they are not scattered far away.

The silver earring is not made of mizuhiki, it's metalic material and heavier than the others (13g instead of 4g).
