This bag comes from the Nakamise street in Asakusa, Tokyo. You can use it to store your pens or as a beauty case. There are different japanese masks represented on it. For example, the Otafuku, a mask representing a smiling woman, which can literally be translated as “a lot of good fortune”. Or the Hyottoko, a comical character with his mouth skewed to one side, which also brings good luck into one’s house.

Sooo cute and funny. I store my fresh face masks, plastic gloves and hand-sanitizer in it. Just the right size and the funny faces cheer me up. Benri desu nee!

As an admitted pouch and Japanese stationery addict I was so excited to get this! I absolutely love the playfulness of the pattern and it’s a great size for some of my stationery goodies I travel with. And that it’s from Asakusa is icing on the cake for me because I have such great memories of shopping on the street up to Asakusa!
