About

Every 2 months, get our selection of travel gifts from Japan and early access to our video content. Every box will focus on one theme, city or one area throughout Japan, so you get to travel with us all around the country from big cities to unknown village! 

Each curated box from Japan includes:

  • Valuable authentic souvenirs
  • Surprising regional confections
  • Meet the locals fanzine

We also want you to travel with us in Japan so we document the creation of your box on video.

Our boxes are based on a bi-monthly system. With the 2 months 1 box plan you will get 1 box. With the 3 boxes plan, you will get 3 boxes spread over 6 months (1 box every 2 months). With the 6 boxes plan, you will get 6 boxes spread over 1 year (1 box every 2 months).

Yes, we do offer single box purchase. You can either purchase one of our themed box or past boxes. To do so, please see the boxes available on our shop.

We are aiming for quality over quantity. Our products are non-mass produced, manufactured by artisans that can’t fulfill a massive order.

Well, it has come to our attention that a lot of those boxes are mainly snacks related or curate only pop-culture items. We wanted to offer you a travel experience to Japan, with Japanese items crafted by well-established artisans and traditional snacks made locally. More importantly, we are documenting all of our processes by interviewing the producers that bring to you those exceptional goods, so you too get to meet them through our videos.

We will support local makers and natural products instead of big chains and mass-produced fluffy snacks. To go the extra mile, and in order to fit our desire to limit our impact on the environment, we decided to keep our packaging as minimalist as possible. That means we will use plain boxes that do not waste a lot of colorful ink and use as much as we can materials that are biodegradable or reusable. We aim to keep improving our packaging through time to be the most eco-friendly we can be!

Yes, past boxes are available to purchase on our shop (limited stock). Be aware that the content of the box might slightly change as some items are limited for the subscription edition only.

Shipping

To be fair and transparent with all our customers we do not include shipping cost in our prices. Shipping fees will be added during checkout. We currently offer ePacket Light from Japan Post Office for Europe and Asia.

Here is our current shipping schedule:

  • January 1st
  • March 1st
  • May 1st
  • July 1st
  • September 1st
  • November 1st

All our boxes are shipped on a schedule and as such, you are not able to choose your own delivery date.

Maybe you will; maybe you won’t. In any case, you are 100% responsible for paying consumption tax and import duties.
We do not know in advance if you will be charged for those. Assume you will and you’ll be pleasantly surprised if you are not
Is there a way to avoid those? Absolutely not and there is no way to know what makes the border people want to tax one package more than another.

Since July 1st, 2021, all packages entering the EU are subject to the payment of VAT, that is to say 20% of the content of the package. Local post office then takes administration fees for the paiement of this tax. We recommend you to contact your local post office to inquire about the process of paiement of this new tax. In some countries, it is cheaper to pay for the VAT online by using your tracking number.

Shipping generally takes 1 to 3 weeks to arrive from the shipment date. You will receive a notification email when your box has been shipped.

We are so sorry to hear that. In the case one of the items is damaged, please take a photo immediately and email us at info@pekopekobox.com so we can assist you further.

If you haven’t received your box, please email us at info@pekopekobox.com. If your box is missing, you should contact us within the 10 weeks following the shipping date to be eligible for reimbursement.

Billing

Thank you so much for thinking of giving one of our boxes to your loved one. To do so, please just select at check-out “ship to a different address”.

All items purchased are final and non-refundable. We do not accept returned orders/items.

You can deactivate your subscription on your Pekopeko box account.
Subscription deactivations must be made at least 1 day prior to your subscription renewal date. Deactivating your subscription only prevents future renewals, it does not cancel existing orders. If you complete the cancellation process after your subscription renews, that renewal will be your last box, and your subscription will not renew in the future.

We are accepting payments through all major credit cards and Paypall. All payments are taken through our secure checkout and we will never share any of your details with third-parties.

Yes, you are charged in advance the full price for your subscription choice.
